Well, this was fun to write!

I wrote this as my competition entry for Literature Anonymous' Mythology contest. I like to think that this is a good, high-quality example of my work, and I enjoyed going out of my comfort zone for writing aspects that I'm normally not used to doing; especially character interaction.

In case anyone thought the second last part of the story was a sex scene: Sorry, I didn't mean for it to turn out that way, but the way that I write blurring of thoughts before passing out is apparently the same way that a sex scene is written. In any case, nothing really happens. He just passes out.

I made a few allusions to the original Siren story, especially in naming characters. I put a surprising amount of effort into that aspect, so I really hope someone noticed that

FEEDBACK REQUEST *spoilers*: I'd like some feedback on how to better improve the naturalness of character communication. I felt that the way that he utterly stopped caring for the girl when he met the Sirens helped build up their power, but it didn't seem like it flowed as well as other parts did. Are there any common writer mistakes I may be making that are causing me to feel uncomfortable with this aspect of my writing? Thanks in advance for any feedback I may be provided with.
